Desktop Virtualization is at the heart of every successful Electronic Health Record deployment. It’s not an option, it’s a necessity. And no one knows that more than VertitechIT CEO Michael Feld who has helped to design the IT network infrastructure for some of American’s leading healthcare institutions.
On Thursday July 24th, Mike led an on line discussion before an international audience on the critical importance of virtualization for IT efficiency, clinician productivity, and patient care. IT Directors from Group Health Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury Maryland, Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas, and Sunrise Health Region in Saskatchewan also participated. Imprivata and Unidesk co-sponsored the webinar.
“Desktop virtualization to EHR is like cooking without butter,” says Feld. “You can do it but things sure will get sticky in the process!” Participants in the webinar agreed, saying VDI simplifies desktop management, streamlines clinical workflow, and improves performance, stability, security, control, and compliance. VertitechIT is currently overseeing a major virtualization project for Lancaster General Hospital in Pennsylvania where Feld also serves as acting Chief Technology Officer.
